Salvation in Jesus Christ Alone
The Bible is composed of 66 books written by over 40 different authors and is focused on the salvation story of God and His people. The whole Bible is magnified and centralized on Jesus Christ being the Messiah, Savior of mankind. God loves each and everyone of us so much that He gave His Only Son so that You may be saved. Would you give any one of your children for anyone? Do you think your parents would sacrifice you for the sake of their friends? No. But the Lord gave His one and only Son for all of us. In John 3:16, Jesus says, “For God so loved the world so much that He gave His only Son so that anyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Man has sinned and this had separated him from God. The Bible says, “All have sinned and fall short of God’s glorious ideal.” (Romans 3: 23) No one is without sin and the penalty of sin is death. “For the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23) In Revelation 21:8 it is written that, “But the cowards who turn back from following Me, and those who are unfaithful to Me, and corrupt and the murderers, and immoral, and those conversing with demons, and idol worshipers and all liars – their doom is in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This is the Second Death.” In James 2:10, it is written that, “Whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.” The Lord knew that no one could be saved and we needed a Savior. For even if we have been so good, we have stumbled, we do not keep a perfect record. God made a way to save all of us and this is through Jesus Christ. In John 14:6 Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one can get to the Father except by means of Me.” Jesus has paid the penalty of our sins past present and future by dying on the cross for us. The Bible says, “When we were utterly helpless with no way to escape, Christ came at the right time and died for us sinners who had no use for Him… God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” (Romans 5:6, 8) Trust Jesus alone to save you. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8,9) Believing that faith in Jesus plus good works to receive eternal life is NOT trusting Jesus alone to save you but it is also trusting yourself. At the time that you trust Jesus alone to save you, He will give you the power to live a life of good works and holiness. You must repent from our sins and turn away from them and ask Jesus to come into your life and forgive your sins and give you eternal life and become your Lord. Jesus promises in Revelation 3:20, “Look I have been standing at the door and am constantly knocking. If anyone hears Me calling him and opens the door, I will come in and fellowship with him, and he with Me.” Invite Jesus to come and take charge of your life. Express your faith with this prayer…..
“Lord Jesus,
I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that you died on the cross to pay for all my sins. Thank you for forgiving my sins past, present and future. Please come into my life and be my Savior and Master. Change my life and give me the power to follow your commands and make me the kind of new person you want me to be. Thank you for coming into my life and giving me the gift of eternal life. Amen.”
